iPHONE 5 Connecting to 2008 Audi A4

Just bought a 2008 Audi 3.2L cabrio and was thrilled to learn it had the iPHONE interface in the glove compartment. Had no issues with the Bluetooth connectivity yet when I attempted to attached the 30-pin to the Lightening - nada.

The phone was not only not being 'charged' by the Audi system but it completely failed to recognize the iPHONE.

Ideally, I would like to use the phone to play music and - best case scenario - Pandora through the Audi sound system.

Any and all counsel would be appreciated...

Had the same problem with you @Harleybear but thanks to @Karina-tune, i just bought Viseeowma3000a for my 14 Audi R8 from viseeo USA, the nicest bluetooth adapter i ever have, I can stream music without any hassle.

Check to see if there is an firmware for Audi sound system

The adapter IS a genuine Apple product ? or a copy

The adapter is Apple. No firmware uypdate for Audi. Need to go aftermarket adapter systems.

I have a 2008 A6 and 2014 A5 both with the 30 pin in the dash and both cars wont talk to the 5S. I have tried to use Audi USB cable, after market 30pin> lightening but nothing will recognize the Iphone. Did you by chance find a solution that works?

I did!

The only way to do this is to use an aftermarket system and Enfig is THE place for this. Call them for a consultation. They ROCK! For less than $450.they are going to install a completely adaptive system that intergrates all iPHONE 5s features to the Audi - including Pandora! A lot less expesnive than Sattlelite radio!

Apple changed the 30 pin configuration since 2008. I've had luck first with this "passPort" converter from the old to new 30 pin setup, then a 30 pin to lightning connector.

I am using ViseeO 1000 in my 2008 Audi A4 and I am so happy with it, music play without interruptions.
